I'm Leading. Is Anyone Following?

A CALL TO PARTICIPATE IN CANADA'S SCHOOLNET GRASSROOTS PROJECT

'A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.'

Some leaders shape the times they lived in and other leaders are run by the events of history.
Schools across North America are invited to participate together in profiling their choice of leaders from Canadian history- leaders who positively shaped the times in which they lived.
Participants of "I'm Leading Is Anyone Following?" will write a report, using the assignment guidelines, that will support their opinion.Students will not only consider the idea of leadership, but will actually identify and justify their own set of criteria for strong leadership. They will then use that criteria to measure their choice of leader.
The "I'm Leading. Is Anyone Following?" project will require students to apply higher level thinking skills as they synthesize and analyze information, using it to evaluate their choice of leader. Participants of the "I'm Leading. Is Anyone Following" project will submit their finished writing to be profiled with other student writing on the "I'm Leading. Is Anyone Following?" website.
Let us come together to celebrate the Canadian leaders that have not only shaped the world in which we now live but can help provide us with the direction that we need to know how we should approach our future.
This project is suitable for students Grade 5-10.
